Jack and The Firebird

A play for children of all ages, Jack and The Firebird takes the classic Russian tale of the firebird and retells it in the idiom of a Jack Tale, a traditional folklore from the American south. This short play was designed for touring and can be done with a minimal budget.

Hot Beef

Hot Beef is a ribald romantic comedy set in San Francisco in the 1980s. In the early years of the AIDS crisis, a financially struggling gay porn magazine tries to stay in business by finding new advertisers. When they approach a high-end manufacturer of condoms a battle between the businesses upends everyone’s lives, and star-crossed love springs up in the midst of the conflict.

The Interloper

The Interloper is a ten-minute stage play. Three brothers in Kentucky and Tennessee join up on a Zoom call to discuss what to do about their aging father. Their call is interrupted by a mysterious interloper.

On Delivery

A ten-minute comedy about life's transitions and the surprises that can happen along the way. Mark and Kent are a retired gay couple who've sold their home in West Hollywood, packed up all their belongings, and are ready to move to the desert, where they'll enjoy their golden years. But when they order dinner, an unexpected delivery arrives that changes everything.

Hotel Bethlehem

Co-written with Tom W. Kelly, Hotel Bethlehem answers the burning theological question: what really was going on in the inn that turned away Joseph and Mary on the night of the Nativity? It's a bawdy, ribald romp with random miracles and sinful laughter that's sure to land you on the naughty list next holiday season.

LuLu Lucy: A Musical for Young Audiences

LuLu Lucy tells the musical story of a 12-year-old girl from rural Kentucky who moves with her single mom to the big city of Los Angeles in the mid 1980s. Awkward and unhappy adjusting to city life, Lucy finds a discarded trumpet in a dumpster, and over the course of one summer befriends Lewie, an elderly curmudgeon in her apartment building who teaches her how to play jazz—empowering her to compete against her musical neighbors in a talent show. Mixing the genres of jazz, hip-hop, country, and opera, the characters discover that music in all its diversity is a common love that ultimately unites them.
